As Amelia searched for news on unaccounted for family members, it turned out Owen's patient was the out of favor sister who caused the multi-car pile up at her father's funeral, which put her right in Amelia's wheelhouse given her own messy family history. Fresh off of telling Alex to get himself figured out, Arizona stepped right into bantering with Owen about how he punched a cardio surgeon - Nathan - in the hospital and got away with it, while Alex was on clinic duty with a felony charge hanging over him. Blessedly after this and other banter about finding faith in seemingly hopeless family relationships, the point of which seemed to be to rub salt in Jo's wounds, we got to at least see more of Owen in the operating room utilizing his trauma surgery skills.
Elsewhere in the hospital: Arizona's back and she's keeping both her roommate (Andrew) and her teacher / student relationship with Alex; Meredith bonded with both Nathan and Maggie this week (though I'll have to say dark and twisty Mer seemed slightly empty to me without her fellow twisted sister Cristina to provide commiseration and support); Ben helped Bailey parent a recalcitrant Tuck; Amelia swept in to play peacekeeper for both her sisters and a family full of anvil characters who arrived at the hospital after a car accident disrupted a family funeral; Stephanie loved the resulting medical chaos which resulted in a once-in-a-lifetime medical miracle; Richard continued to set the tone on the surgical service; Alex committed to keeping a hold on both his job and his emotions; and April loved motherhood but also jonesed for surgery.
