"Our mission is to improve the health and care of children in some of the poorest regions of the world through a sustained commitment to communities and caregivers. We send volunteer pediatric physicians to partner sites in sub-Saharan Africa and South America to train local primary care physicians and surgeons. These physicians can in turn train the next generation of doctors and medical professionals, thus sustaining our commitment to building local capacity and maximizing the impact of our efforts. Partners for Pediatric Progress simultaneously provides invaluable training experience for U.S. medical students and residents in these settings, allowing us to nurture the careers of the next generation of health care leaders in this country."
