Haiti Earthquake Relief 2010

Kevin McKidd Online launched its first-ever charity project on February 28, 2010. Our initial goal was $5,000 with all net proceeds going to Save the Children and their emergency response fund for children affected by the devastating January 2010 Haiti earthquake.

Kevin McKidd graciously donated several autographed items to be sold at eBay auction, including:

* "Grey's Anatomy" script & scrub top (each signed by several cast members)
* "Grey's Anatomy" 100 episodes jacket
* "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" book & posters (each signed by several cast & film members )
* "ROME" book and DVD set
* "Modern Warfare 2: Call of Duty" XBox 360 Hardened Edition video game (included game, book, night vision goggles & display head)
* Photos Personally Autographed to Winning Bidders
* Other items were donated by KMKO forum members

By the beginning of April 2010 we had reached our initial goal and Kevin McKidd Online was named one of the month's Top 25 eBay Giving Works Donors. Your generosity, however, did not stop there. Kevin’s fans continued to surprise and amaze us! As our eBay auctions wound down we set a modest new goal of $5,500 and by mid-June we knew we would surpass that mark too!

In 2010, thru eBay auction, FirstGiving online donations, charity shop sales, corporate matches and other contributions we raised $5,612.71 for Save the Children and Haiti earthquake relief!

With the support of Kevin's fans, and others worldwide, our first charity campaign was a resounding success! We would like to extend a HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE involved and to Kevin himself for his trust in us, donation of fabulous items, and allowing us to hold the event. We were honored to organize and conduct the fundraiser and look forward to more projects.

Over 60 people participated in 2010 charity events. Supporters came from 34 different USA zip codes, South Africa, France, Italy, Canada, Australia, Scotland and the UK.

Approximately 33% of donors and 70% of eBay bidders were new to us. It’s great to attracted other individuals and other Kevin fans with our efforts!
