SCREEN hunk Kevin McKidd has revealed he plans to film a new version of the Shakespeare classic Macbeth. The Scots actor - Dr Owen Hunt in hit US hospital drama Grey's Anatomy - is even launching his own production company to make the flick on home soil.
McKidd, now settled in Los Angeles with his wife and two kids, said: "It's been a long held dream to make Macbeth in Scotland.
"But I would be acting, not directing - that would be kind of crazy at this point."
Elgin-born McKidd got a taste for movie-making after he directed an episode of Gray's Anatomy at just FOUR days' notice.
But he admitted Slumdog Millionaire maker Danny Boyle - who directed Kevin in his first hit movie Trainspotting - was also a major inspiration.
He said: "Back when I did Trainspotting, I was 21 and worked with Danny Boyle.
"I was extremely inspired and said, 'I think I can actually do this'.
"It's opened up a whole new world for me."
