ROME star Kevin McKidd is digging out his toga for a movie version of the sword and sandals epic. The 36-year-old hopes filming will happen during a break from his role as Dr Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy.
He said: "Everybody in the cast whose character still lives - they've all said yes, we're absolutely up to doing it.
"The tentative plan is to try and get it done next summer, in between seasons seven and eight of Grey's.
"There's still that intent. I think about 50 per cent of the financing is there. We're almost there."
McKidd, from Elgin, Moray, shot to international fame as Lucius Vorenius in the joint BBC and HBO production.
His character appeared to die in the series final scenes but for the movie he will be resurrected.
