[directing] RECAP: Kevin at helm of Grey's Anatomy 12x01

Recapping the recent 2nd week of filming on GA 12x01 with Kevin as director.

Grey's is now currently shooting 12x02 and had the table read for 12x03 yesterday.

@nothingbutgreys Yes we film every day, Mon - Fri with some weekends thrown in as needed.

"@allywooood: how many hours do you film a day?" Normal day is 13 hrs - 12hrs of filming + 1hr off for lunch, but it can go longer sometimes

@HannahSky yes. if shooting night exterior filming can go all night until sunup. On stage, we have shot until 3 or 4 in the am sometimes

@cycworker doing 24 eps makes TV sched very tight + keeping 100 membr crew idle while rehearsing is expensive. Actors usually 1/2

@nothingbutgreys neither. scenes are usually grouped by set/location, ie: all OR scenes, all patient rooms scenes, all elevator scenes etc.
