Grey's Anatomy Season 12:
Kevin McKidd teases Owen and Nathan's beef with each other
Grey's Anatomy Season 12 isn't back until February, but some of the cast recently spilled on what's in store for their characters when it returns. Keep reading for all the juicy details!
Aside from the fact that we want January to be over because it's just so cold, we also can't wait to usher in February, because it means that Grey's Anatomy will be back! Plus, ABC's TGIT line-up really makes getting through the week a lot easier when there are so many good shows to binge on in one night. The hit series returns February 11 for its mid-season premiere and the promo clips have us wishing we could hibernate and wake up on the day of the next new episode.
Amelia will apparently take the news of the attack very hard and blame herself for Meredith's condition, even though she had nothing to do with it. Now do you see why we can't wait for next month?! It's a testament to the writing and acting on this show that we are just as hooked now as we were on day one. Grey's in 2016 is going to start off with a bang and we have no doubt that the second half of the season will be just as dramatic as the first half.
Amelia blames herself for Meredith's attack, which takes a toll on her relationship with Owen
Speaking of Amelia, as we saw in the mid-season finale, following her fight with Meredith and being kicked out of the house, Amelia went off the deep-end and relapsed. Actress Caterina Scorsone, who plays the troubled character, recently told TVLine that her character has a tendency to blame herself for things that happen, so she will really be struggling to cope with the aftermath of Meredith's attack.
It's also coming out now that the anxiety she feels regarding Meredith will take a toll on her relationship with Owen, who is having trouble dealing with the arrival of the new doctor Nathan. In speaking about the relationship between Amelia and Owen, Scorsone elaborated: "He's not capable of being there for her and she's not capable of being there for him. It's a mess." In regards to the Owen/Nathan discord, Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen teased that the reason for the beef will start to be revealed in Episode 14. [TEAM MCKIDD NOTE: Kevin McKidd directs episode 14]
Many are speculating that Owen's sister is dead and Nathan was somehow involved or to blame. In response to the rumor McKidd said: "It does appear that it's a death. But it's more ambiguous than that. There's nothing definite about the fate of his sister." It seems like we were at least somewhat on the right track, but we know with Grey's that nothing is even as clear-cut as we think it might be.
Do you think Nathan played a role in the death of Owen's sister?
