Crazy love, indeed!
On Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 19 there are breakups, reconciliations, and a lot of questions we need to know the answers to.
Derek makes a brief appearance at the beginning of this episode, and it seems like things are going well for him and Meredith.
They are happy to be back together again, but we all know Derek still hasn't told her the whole truth about what happened in D.C. I'll skip right to the cliffhanger, where Meredith gets a call and learns that Derek never made it to his meeting in D.C.
Time to panic? My mind can't help but think of things like plane crashes and freak accidents, but it also begs the question of the girl Derek left back in D.C. I find it doubtful we won't see her again, and guys, I'm nervous.
Amelia and Owen are also on the forefront this week, with Meredith sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. I understand her explanation that Cristina asked her to look out for Owen, but how insulting is it that she thinks Amelia will be the one to hurt him? Also, Amelia is her sister-in-law, and I'd partly expect her to be more concerned for Amelia than for Owen. It feels strange to me, and it isn't the conflict I expected to see for Amelia and Owen's relationship.
We've seen this before, maybe with every relationship on Grey's Anatomy – the personal vs. professional, and all the blurred lines and problems doing things like having sex in supply closets can cause.
It's that struggle that also causes problems for Richard and Catherine. Catherine is back this week, and Richard is less than thrilled at first to see her. Their relationship ended before because the work got in the way, as is often the case on this show. But ultimately, he cares for her and wants to be with her, even if they will likely hurt one another again.
Can I just say how much I love Catherine Avery? She's around long enough to make Stephanie realize that she doesn't want to handle penises for the rest of her life, but she also has an important moment with April.
It's a very small scene, but it's one that speaks volumes. When Catherine arrives, she and April hug, then share a knowing look. That look is brief reminder of the tragedy April and Jackson have experienced, and it shows they are still working through it.
April is a character who I disliked for a long time, but the baby story line changed that for me. She's tougher now, and I love the way she stands up to Richard.
Maggie deals with her own relationship issues this week too, and it's Alex who offers words of advice and encouragement. In fact, that's something that's become pretty typical of his character lately. If you watched the pilot episode that aired just before this one, you likely noticed that he's an entirely different character.
Who ever would have guessed that guy in Grey's Anatomy Season 1 would have become so sweet and endearing?
