Hundreds of supporters turned out in Bishopmill to join McKidd in a show of support ahead of tomorrow’s referendum.
The 41-year-old ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star said: “I’ve always been a supporter of independence for Scotland and I think it is going to create more equality for the Scottish people.
“I don’t live in Scotland so I don’t get to place a vote – but I do feel it’s going to create a more democratic and equal Scotland.
“All my family are still here and my friends, all my friends. I very much trust their opinion and they are all Yes supporters – I have been interested to hear what they had to say from their individual perspectives.”
A former pupil at the local Seafield Primary School and Elgin Academy, McKidd went on to an acting career after being a member of the Moray Youth Theatre group.
As well as his long running leading role in Grey’s Anatomy the actor has starred in the hit movie ‘Trainspotting’ and more recently the animated film ‘Brave’.
