The third installment, captured by Leibovitz in and around NYC, features the Scottish and ruggedly handsome Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd (who sported a Tom Ford suit for the evening). “I was very nervous and scared,” McKidd dished to ELLE.com, on shooting with Leibovitz.
“I took a red eye and got to set at 5 a.m. I hadn’t slept, and I showed up at this country house in the middle of nowhere in upstate New York. It was December so it was freezing. I stumbled out of the car and Annie looked at me and goes ‘You look perfect! Nobody touch him!. I had on a blue T-shirt that was literally still covered in airline food, and she was like ‘I love that shirt!’ So I wore the shirt in the shots.”
This collaboration presents the synergy between the art of whisky, and an artist’s interpretation of its image–recognizing not only the mastery of The Macallan, but of the renowned talent Annie Leibovitz. On what drew her to the project, Leibovitz said, “Macallan really is it. It’s the premiere luxury scotch whisky in the world. [Also] I was really intrigued by Kevin, who has a great story; we had a great time together.”
For whisky and photography connoisseurs alike, 1,000 limited-edition bottles will be paired with signed Leibovitz prints from the exclusive collaboration.
