Question: I feel like this season of Grey's Anatomy is awful. After the first 5-6 episodes, I have the impression that time is passing and nothing is really happening. The core cast has been relegated to the sidelines. Derek being the new Chief is not about Derek, but about Webber, a supporting character that should remain one. Meredith has barely been on screen. Alex gets two lines per week since Izzie left. Cristina is the only one with a decent plot, albeit a recycled one. Kim Raver's Teddy is laughable, even by Grey's standards. The flashback episode with Bailey, Webber and Ellis was boring and centered around characters that I don't feel deserve all that fuss (and one of them is not even a regular!). The ratings are a mess and now we have another flashback episode with Owen. There is so much to learn about Derek, Alex and Cristina, why do I have to sit through an episode devoted to Owen Hunt? Why should I watch it? Does ABC really think people care about him?--Andrea
Matt Roush: While Grey’s may no longer be the must-see show it was at its prime, I’m still enjoying it more often than not—it’s certainly a step up from the season of Denny’s ghost and the newbies operating on themselves. I have no problem with Webber, in his new demoted position, getting a fair amount of screen time. It’s a solid, grown-up story about recovery and redemption. I love Bailey getting busy with Jason George, and Arizona has more than come into her own as a strong member of the staff. Plus, Cristina and Owen: Yay! Kevin McKidd has proven himself, and is absolutely worthy of a war flashback episode to show us what his former life was like with Teddy in the field and what may account for his PTSD. That said, it hasn’t been a perfect year. Alex has been seriously underused, but a lot of that probably has to do with the turmoil surrounding Katherine Heigl’s messy departure (and apparent non-return). Regarding Meredith and Derek, those who’ve been following the show (and Shonda Rhimes’ tweets) know that Ellen Pompeo having a baby has kept her on the sidelines for much of this season. She’s happy, Derek and Meredith are happy for a change, can’t we be happy for her and them? (I’m just glad I’ve been spared the usual flurry of panicked e-mails every time these characters have a fight, with fans freaking that Shonda is somehow going to split them up again.) source

Houston, TX: I'll try again. Have you seen a preview of the next Grey's episode, the one that features Owen Hunt and his Iraq flashbacks? Just from the promos, it looks compelling and Kevin McKidd is amazing! What do you think about this next episode of Grey's?
Robert Bianco: Like you, all I've seen are the promos - and "Greys" promos are notoriously misleading. That said, I'm looking forward to the episode. I think McKidd has been a great addition to the show, and I'm happy to see him get a showcase. source
