...Well, at least it's the moment we've been waiting for anyway: the revised Gallery is now OPEN to the public. We still have a few more photos coming to us soon and screenshots of other movies that will be added over time, but this is a vast majority available to the public now. We'll also be working to make some of the smaller pixel photos larger and similar in size to some of the screen and publicity shots. Alas, that may come after the holidays!
We're housing it offsite in a venue that is easy, fun, allows for fan comments of individual photos, and allows us to change settings quickly as needed, by creating password-access galleries for mature audiences, changing backgrounds and other technical dynamics and so on and so forth. Right now, though, it's all-access-all-the-time. We're excited to finally have one place for all photos; if you enjoy it as much as we do, feel free to let us know at the site!
We also added the new trailer to Made of Honor (it's only a teaser really since Kevin, oddly enough, doesn't actually get speaking time) and should have an older, but interesting, Scotland Magazine article (about Kevin's early family life) up before the latest "Journeyman" episode airs this week. By the way, if you aren't watching "Journeyman" and you have an opportunity to do so, well, we just don't know what to think of you. We may be a little biased because of Kevin, but it also really is THAT good. We love this show so don't forget to watch!
Now for even more non-subliminal plugs, we're continuing to receive fan submissions for Kevin's Christmas care package via various methods. If you want to take part in the project but have a different method in mind than those listed, run it by us and we'll do what we can to help. We understand the 1 month deadline is strict, especially for people relying on mailing options outside the U.S. (and there are MANY of you, which is fantastic), but we also needed to take care of things before everyone disperses for Christmas. Remember that you can write to the William Morris Agency address (see the fan forum for details) at any time while Kevin is in the States as well.
Finally, we want to issue a warm welcome and introduction to Leanne, our new moderator of the Kevin McKidd Online message board and chatroom, which is linked in the Fan Forum area of this site. A long-time fan of Kevin's, she is graciously volunteering her computer background and expertise (while also being full-time mom to a 2 year old; we're in awe). Like so many fans, she also resides outside the States, which lends creedance to how important it is to us that we make this site beneficial for Kevin fans and friends around the globe. She has already made some helpful changes and will be instrumental in helping us so that we continue to update news, photos, and multimedia in a timely manner. The message board will also become an integral part of fan fun activities in 2008; those that register their name and email address through the board will be the first to know of any global contest or official Kevin McKidd Online fan interactive in future (completely spam-free, occasional emails when warranted, of course; we don't like spam either).
Whew, it's been a productive vacation. Now where's that turkey....
Everyone at Kevin McKidd Online would like to wish our American constituents a very happy, safe Thanksgiving holiday, and we continue to remember all the troops who are far from loved ones this holiday season.
Kevin McKidd Holiday Project
Deadline: Friday, December 14th
Due to positive response, we are initiating a way for old friends and fans alike to send greetings to Kevin for the holidays. Those interested can send cards, letters, or emails in care of Kevin McKidd Online and we will ensure that Kevin receives for the Christmas holiday. Anything sent for Kevin will remain completely secure, unopened, and private. A group care package works well because it allows us to inform the proper channels about its arrival in advance and keeps management from having to sort things to determine between solicitation, requests for autographs and simply notes of support.
Names of all participants and their general location/organization will be included alongside a small gift for Kevin as well, so please make this clear on the envelope or subject line when participating, i.e. John McFall, MYT, Scotland. Each participant who provides a return mailing address will also receive a thank you from the admin here, arriving between late December and early January, to inform you that your contribution was received and included in the holiday package.
If you would like to participate, you can email here using the "Contact" Tab or mail to the address listed below. Please indicate "For Kevin" at the top of the Comment section on the form so that we will know to print for inclusion.
If you prefer, you can send via regular mail as well. Anything received after December 14th will not be included in the care package and promptly returned to sender. Please do not send anything suspicious, edible, or soliciting/advertising of any kind.
Thank you for your continued support of Kevin and the site!
Added 3 articles, "Vice City" link (look for Kevin near the end of the behind-the-scenes session work), 3 different audios mp3s, and partially completed our new gallery pages.
Decided to link to a public format that will allow people to save screenshots they like for their own personal use. We will be premiering at least 4 more albums once these are to our satisfaction. These will be primarily screenshots and mainstream photos, while copyrighted photos will be kept separate or used on the main pages here with full attribution and credit listed.
More photos still rolling in so expect further updates in the coming month. My personal favorites are a few candids you may not have seen!
We're still hard at work; don't mind the re-construction!
To coincide with our Monday night viewing pleasure, this is from a Maxim article--a pic of the "Vasser brothers," Kevin's recent publicity photo and Reed Diamond from a publicity photo for "Life on the Streets." Cloning started in Scotland, right? Hmm.
Just received press about Made of Honor, in which Kevin plays opposite a lovelorn Patrick Dempsey trying to steal his fiance's attentions, having a May release date in the US. This also means it shouldn't be too long before we start seeing Kevin back on the big screen, with movie trailers possibly hitting cinemas around the new year. You'll not only see both men in kilts (below; is it just me or does Patrick's look more like a miniskirt?), but enjoy the fine Scottish brogue, as scenes with Patrick and Kevin were filmed in and around Scotland earlier in the year. Interior chapel scenes were filmed in Tring, Hertfordshire--you can expect lavish wedding frippery like kilts for the men and great hats for the women. Also be on lookout for the little McKidds to make their debut as extras in this film (see the Hollywood.com article in the News section for more).
Sidenote: Sydney Pollack also appears in the role of Patrick Dempsey's father; considering he's admittedly feisty about the roles he chooses, we can expect either a very strong supporting cast or great script (and perhaps both). We're big fans of Sydney's as well. Rent Tootsie or Changing Lanes; you'll see what we mean.
