The first fan project, a holiday care package, is complete and arriving in sunny California today. Thank you to everyone who participated. A donation was also made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in honor of Kevin McKidd and his fans.
You'll also notice a festive look to the main pages here as we got in the holiday spirit.
Message to Santa:
All we want for Christmas is to ring in 2008 with another season of "Journeyman."
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It's 2am where I am right now so forgive any errors....
It was a privilege to get to speak to Brian Howe (who plays "Hugh Skillen" on NBC's "Journeyman") as part of Shaun O'Mac's radio program this evening. He had some very insightful things to say about "Journeyman," the character arcs, and where interesting possibilities might lie for future storylines, if given a back nine. Genuinely interested in fan responses, he implied that cast and crew are as disconcerted as fans are by a lack of promotion and he was encouraged (and highly entertained) by the fans' grassroots campaign to curtail any too-quick cancellation decision by the powers that be.
I think I speak for most by saying how nice it is that the cast, writers and crew have made themselves readily available to speak so openly with the fans about the show. Thank you, Brian (and Kevin Falls earlier), for appearing on Shaun's show to interact and take questions and thanks to Shaun for letting fans have another outlet in which to voice objections over this fantastic voyage possibly ending all too soon.
And to Brian--you are every bit the friendly, straightforward, and humble "everyman," not to mention a good sport. And I stand by my comment that your "weirdest family ever" is the best one-liner delivered by any actor on a show this year.
See you on the flipside!

Updates:
Just added 2 recent interviews to the Multimedia section: 1 audio of Kevin on Philadelphia radio and 1 video link to Kevin's television brother, Reed Diamond. Check it out and don't forget to watch the 3 remaining episodes! The finale airs in an irregular timeslot on Wednesday night, Dec. 19th, instead--you won't want to miss it! And if you also love Brian Howe ( Dan's boss, "Hugh") as much as we do, you can catch him on an upcoming radio broadcast with Shaun O'Mac, a Las Vegas broadcast journalist (issued guest for this Monday, 8pm PST).
In the meantime, we've added more to the News section and gathered more photos to be added to the Gallery sometime after Christmas. We appreciate you checking in and submitting ideas for improving the site and boards; we do take everything into consideration. We've also just integrated a fan voicemail option that allows anyone with a U.S. number (software restriction, not by choice) to leave a message for Kevin, the cast and crew of "Journeyman," or even other fans. No restrictions on what you say and no charge, other than the fee your cellphone provider charges for a received text message. This SayNow voicemail interface is new but a nice personal touch for those that prefer it. Talk about "Journeyman," Kevin or send greetings to other fans...the options are endless.
Until next time.
Congratulations to OldOunce from China, our winner of the First Official Kevin McKidd Online contest! Her "Save Journeyman" video campaign was a hit! Join the message boards for first access to future contests!
In lieu of a message from "the other Kevin" (Kevin Falls, creator of "Journeyman") that was posted at Aint-it-cool-news.com (see below), all of the original completed episodes shot for "Journeyman" will now air, thanks to the continued group effort of fans. We at Kevin McKidd Online are so impressed with the amount of people signing on at various message boards to show support that we want to help you to help "Journeyman" as well. So we're invoking a "Save 'Journeyman'" contest. Contest prize has yet to be determined; we're doing this on the spur of the moment, afterall, but we promise to make good!
Contest Platform:
There are only 3 episodes left and the last 2 will air in the same week; "Journeyman" needs a large viewer increase to help convince the networks to hold onto this fantastic show. The remaining episodes are set to air between now and December 19th (December 3rd excluded). This means that not only do fans need to rally in support by continuing to send emails and letters to NBC executives, but they need to find compelling ways to convince OTHER new and potential viewers to tune in and watch the show as well. And there's no time to waste!
Contest Rules:
Register with the Kevin McKidd Online message boards and post your creative idea for supporting the show. Have photos of you hosting a "Journeyman" theme party? Did you make shirts in your support of "Journeyman" and wear them around town? Maybe you are handing out fliers on the street alongside other fans or you've convinced your local bar establishment to turn all the televisions to NBC on Monday night, (in which case we hope you don't get mowed down by football fans). Do you harass your fellow coworkers so badly that they can't help but tune in to avoid your lectures the next day? Create a promotional YouTube video about "Journeyman" that you want to share with the world via a link? Register at the People's Choice Awards website under 4 different pseudonyms just so that you could vote 4 times a day? Ok, that might be drawing the line but you get the idea....
The point is that we want to hear how you are endeavoring to "SAVE 'JOURNEYMAN'" within the next 3 weeks. Staff here at Kevin McKidd Online will judge all entries and the entrant deemed to have the most creative promotional idea will win a "Journeyman"/ Kevin McKidd gift. Photos or evidence of some kind will help, too, when submitting or posting your entry, even if it's a photo of you surrounded by 100 Rice-A-Roni packets prior to mailing off to NBC execs or you and friends buying way too many kitchen timers at the local store to send in as part of an organized movement. Everything you do to help share "Journeyman" with the general public can and will make a difference. Spread the "Journeyman" love and we'll be watching!
In the meantime, keep emailing NBC executives and be sure to vote all you can for "Journeyman" during the remaining days of the voting process for the Peoples Choice Awards, which will air in January 2008. We want to see the entire cast and crew get rewarded for their hard work this year! We want to see "Journeyman" turn around from the show critics condemned for being on its last legs to a series that can go the distance! With fan support, time (especially these next few weeks) really could change everything!
Logistics: Contest Runs from today until midnight on Thursday, December 20th. Each post in the "Journeyman" Contest thread will be considered 1 entry into the contest. Multiple entries are allowed. Judging will occur between December 20th and December 28th. Winner will be notified using the email address registered thru the boards and winner's (screen)name will be posted on this site as of December 30th. Only 1grand prize winner.
Message from Kevin Falls about "Journeyman":
http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/node/34919
NBC has decided to air the 12th episode ("Perfidia") on Wednesday, December 19th at ten o'clock. That means our 10th episode will air on Monday the 10th ("Home by Another Way"), the 11th will air on 17th ("The Hanged Man").
The decision to air the 12th episode had a lot to do with the passion of our fans through SaveJourneyman.net, the online petition and letters and emails to NBC executives.
And is it true you can vote once a day for the People's Choice Awards?
There's still no news on our long term future, but we can promise you this: three terrific episodes inside of ten days. Oh, yeah, and you'll get some answers, too.
Your comments and pro-active attempts to save the show are very much appreciated by me and my fellow Executive Producer Alex Graves, Kevin McKidd and the cast, writers and crew. But more importantly, it's working.
But don't rest. We need you. We want a back nine--and beyond.
Thanks again,
Kevin Falls
