Callan was brought in. He looked indifferent, or defiant, though once he was settled in the chair his eyes shifted from side to side in a way that suggested fear.
'I am going to lock the door,' Yealland said. He returned to stand before the patient, ostentatiously dropping the key into his top pocket. 'You must talk before you leave me.'.....
Im not mad about war stories but really enjoyed this movie although Kevin's role is very small. To my surprise I found the book at an old charity shop and found the book a fantastic read, Book and Movie are very close its a good adaptation.
The story oddly revolves around patients In WW1 suffering from the mental effects (shell shock) of war much like Owens character in Greys Anatomy. However in those days treatments were very different. The story takes place in Craiglockart Hospital, a military asylum in Scotland, in 1917. Where Captain William Rivers, a senior psychologist, hopes to render as many of his patients fit for combat again.
Below is the Trailer for the Movie Behind the Lines the last clip is of Kevin's Character Callan...
IMDB
Callan - Dr. Yealland's patient at the National Hospital in London, and one of his more interesting cases. After serving in almost every major battle of the First World War, Callan finds himself in the hospital suffering from mutism. He appears insolent in his illness, merely smiling at the doctor who offers to cure him. Callan initially fights back against the treatment, but eventually resigns himself to it. Rivers notes that Callan appears broken.
