Weinnstein Co. Sets Period Drama ‘Tulip Fever’ For July; Turner To Launch Streaming Movie Service

The Weinstein Company has set July 15 for the limited release of Tulip Fever. Set in 17th century Amsterdam, it follows a married woman (Alicia Vikander) who begins a passionate affair with an artist (Dane DeHaan) hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together. Justin Chadwick directed Tulip from a script by Tom Stoppard based on Deborah Moggach’s 1999 novel. Oscar winners Christoph Waltz and Judi Dench co-star along with Holliday Grainger, Jack O’Connell, Zach Galifianakis, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander and Cara Delevingne.
