Since Mackenzie Phillips published shocking claims last fall in her book High on Arrival, the star has made headlines regarding allegations her father had an incestuous relationship with her. She gave ET an update on how she is doing at the Prism Awards on Thursday night in L.A. Finding the courage to walk the red carpet, Mackenzie reported, "I'm doing very well. I feel very hopeful about the future and my life is fairly normal." Having battled her own demons with drug addiction and the relationship with her father, she felt it was important to attend the annual awards presentation that salutes movies and TV shows that incorporate an accurate depiction of mental health issues and addiction into their storylines. She said, "It's very important that we have empathy and compassion for addicts and people suffering from mental illness. I think that by rewarding the shows that treat it in a great light, I think it's just really an important thing to do." Kevin McKidd's character on "Grey's Anatomy" suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder, so he has a first-hand perspective of what the gala represents. He stressed the importance of keeping these serious issues at the forefront of people's minds. "Sometimes they get brushed under the carpet and I think it's a really important thing to keep in the awareness of the public," he said. "Movies like 'Crazy Heart,' Jeff Bridges getting the Oscar for that portrayal of an alcoholic was so wonderful." "Grey's Anatomy" and 'Crazy Heart,' along with 'The Soloist,' "Breaking Bad," "Law & Order: SVU," and "How I Met Your Mother," were honored with Prism Awards at the banquet. source below thanks to genius YT clip just of the Kevin interview Update : Bear and the Bow, Name Change and New Release date confirmed (Kevin McKidd : voice work)4/23/2010 Stitch Kingdom nailed it when they posted that Disney/Pixar’s “The Bear And The Bow” was going through a title change and being renamed “Brave.”
