I loved the whole "We Matter" scene in Season 6. It was amazingly well-acted and it was powerful in so many ways. KMK's role as Poseidon in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The episode, Suicide is Painless on Grey's Anatomy was actually very humbling. PTSD is an issue that is hotly debated in the media all around the world so for Grey's Anatomy to have an episode that almost centralizes around it and sheds some light onto it was great. Kevin's acting presented the issue from a more sensitive/personal perspective. Also, I think this was Kevin's first ever GA episode voiceover! I think in the commentary on that episode he said "Hi, Kev here! I was so excited to get to do the voice over on the show. Felt like I earned my stripes in a funny way…" and "The ‘Hail Mary’ moment – I kept getting emotional but the director kept stopping me. ‘Just say it,’ he would say. I think it’s better his way." World Pneumonia Day; Again, I loved Kevin's generosity in lending his voice to a cause like this. The Cristina & Owen wedding was probably something most CO fans had been waiting just under two seasons for and I guess it was well-worth the wait. I love Kevin and Sandra together! They make such a great team. Save the Children Haiti Auction; Again, I loved Kevin's generosity in lending his voice to a cause like this. I really love it when Owen gives a grand speech on Grey's Anatomy. They're amazing; like they're well-written and extremely well-delivered. The writers do a good job with Owen's speeches like his 'Take Care Now' and 'We Matter' just to name a few. His 'I'm not going anywhere without you' one as no different. thank you to -FL for the lovely artwork Members of KMKOnline provided us with a list of there favorite Kevin Moments from 2010 ~ there were so many so Ive split them and included as many as i can this is Part 1 of the countdown ![]() #10 Best Grey's Anatomy Season 7 moment ~ 7.05 "Almost Grown" Proved to be a favorite amongst many as there Best Owen and Cristina screen-capped moment (leanne,ellla1967) One of those rare moments of lightness for these 2, here's to hoping we get more! (cl3me) I loved the way Owen spotted his wife, eyed her up a little and then snuck over to her .. hoping for a little sexy flirting, but then he quickly realised that she needed a little comforting ... he brought in a little lightheartedness to make her smile .. and a beautiful sweet little reassuring peck on the cheek .. aahhh.. I loved that scene! (Iveocd) Grey's 7x01 - cause I was amazed that Shonda was actually going to have Owen and Cristina have a real wedding. Also because it closed the uncertainty of Owen's feelings of S6 and solidified what us CO fans believed all along that Cristina/Owen were true soul-mates. (COforever) ![]() The Season 6 finale of GA with a special mention to the Season 7 premiere..(betinad) Also I loved the full range of expressions that Owen's face went through when Callie/Arizona were getting it on in front of him & Cristina. In 30 seconds, he made the transition from "oh, that's inappropriate behaviour" to "Wow - there are 2 women getting it on right in front of me". He was completely torn between watching (as a hot blooded male) and diverting his eyes (as a true gentleman) ... absolutely hysterical and acting gold!! (Iveocd) Loved Owen telling Meredith she was fearless - and not in a good way in "Adrift & At Peace" and pointing out that Cristina is not her -- that there is indeed a difference in the two individuals. (Duchovlet) We have to go back to March 2010, when Season 6 of GA gave us the Owen-centric episode "Suicide is Painless". Owen even got to take over the voice-overs from Meredith, now I would call that a major milestone, wouldn't you? Besides, Kevin's acting in this episode was stellar. He outshines his co-stars, with the exception of Sandra Oh, in almost all of his scenes. (Phoeberaven) ![]() #9 Best Quotes I have a favorite quote from 2010. It's from the end of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Here goes! "I know I'm not the father you always wanted. But if you need me I'll be there for you, in your thoughts and in your dreams. I'll stand by you, Percy. Always." (ranniez) My favorite Grey's moment for 2010 came from this season's Webisode 6. I went back, watched it again and get the exact quote : "You know before Iraq I wanted to be a trauma surgeon...But after it I had to be. And I still feel that way today. Even more so." Gotta love Owen. (ranniez) #8 Favorite Grey's Anatomy Season 7 Video Clip moment Grey's Anatomy 6x12. "I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked", original air-date January 21, 2010. The "We Matter" scene was beautiful. Owen acknowledging openly how important his relationship with Cris is and forcing her to do the same. Wonderful work by Kevin and Sandra. Definitely one of my favorites from a decidedly lopsided s6. (ruralstar) ![]() #7 Favorite moments regarding Kevin's career in 2010: One Night in Emergency. I have to say that when I saw the preview and they showed him in scrubs I was intrigued in seeing how different could this character be from Owen. As expected, Kevin performance was brilliant! (betinad) Percy Jackson And who can forget seeing a 40 foot KMK on the movie screen? No one. SO NICE. And Poseidon's strut to the Empire State Building to talk with Zeus. (Duchovlet) ![]() #6 Best interview moments I pick the TIFF interview with Ron Perlman. When Ron was talking about when they met, he was saying something in the lines of "we are husbands and dads trying to get through the day and we are both very blessed" . The way Kevin reacts to that assessment , so genuine .. clear reminder of why we admire him so much. (betinad) the countdown shall continue tomorrow with more Kevin Moments from 2010 many thanks to Leanne, Betinad, Ruralstar, Duchovlet, Iveocd, Phoeberaven, Ranniez, coforever, ellla1967 for there contributions AlloCiné French interview : Kevin McKidd 09/22/2010
Original in french: http://www.allocine.fr/article/fichearticle_gen_carticle=18597605.html google translator thanks to Betinad The actor Owen Hunt in "Grey's Anatomy" returns for season 6 for AlloCiné, as well as "Rome", series that made him famous ... AlloCiné Series: We saw you play the guitar in "Grey's Anatomy" singing in the web series "Seattle Grace On Call". When is a musical career? Kevin McKidd : I love music but I love my job as an actor more. The music relaxes me. I would dream of being part of a group, however, or working on a musical even though I'm not a big fan as a spectator. The Seattle Grace: On Call producers have managed to convince me to sing but it's not really my thing to do in front of an audience. It went very well in all cases. As a musical career ... you should never say never! Were you watching "Grey's Anatomy" before playing in the series? Kevin McKidd : Not really. I had heard much. I have seen an episode or two but not more. I knew it was a series very well written, with engaging characters and complex. You have arr ived in season 5. Was it easy for you to integrate to the cast? Kevin McKidd : I was very lucky. Everybody welcomed me warmly, including Sandra Oh, who helped me to integrate myself and left me time to get my bearings. She is a very generous girl. Patrick Dempsey has also been strong. We knew since we had already shot a movie together a few months earlier (Made of Honour ). It was pretty scary at first because I had never been part of a series as popular. It took me time to adapt but all went well. When you were asked to become a regular in the series, have you accepted without hesitation? Kevin McKidd : Yes, without hesitation! I would have been crazy to refuse. The series was such a success! I was very lucky. Are you satisfied with the development of Owen, especially in season 6? Kevin McKidd : Yes, I liked that the writers make him so dark, if disturbed. In a series like Grey's Anatomy characters that are happy are irrelevant. Owen should be very interesting! I look forward to seeing what he reserves for next year ... There was a special episode interspersed with flashbacks to the time when Owen and Teddy were in Iraq. Why was it important to attend? Kevin McKidd : I think the writers wanted to highlight this tragic period in the life of Owen, who has shaped who he is today. Especially Owen is someone very mysterious, which does not reveal itself easily. There are many things he hides. It was also an opportunity to show these people who are willing to put their lives in danger in heroic manner, whether soldiers or doctors. What piece of his personality would you like the writers show more? Kevin McKidd : I think that Owen is someone much funnier than he seems. He has experienced difficult things lately which probably prevent him of practicing black humor, but I'm sure it will change. I want to see the lighter, happier. Owen is automatically associated with Cristina, what characters would you like him to interact more with? Kevin McKidd : I have a preference for the character of Sara Ramirez (Callie). They assessed from the beginning and had some interactions but I want their relationship of friendship to be a little more developed. Also, the writers have begun to emphasize the relationship that binds Owen to Derek and Mark. Basically, he represented a danger to them and then they got to know him. Sarah Drew and Jesse Williams became regular in season seven. Don’t you find that Seattle Grace is already full to bursting? Kevin McKidd : Not really. According to the episodes, some characters are more highlighted than others and it turns. I'm not afraid of that. And then there are those who have died in the finale of season 6 so ... (Laughs). They are two great additions to the cast anyway. They bring new energy and it is important to renew interest. It does not worry me. The season finale was just very shocking. How was the shooting? Kevin McKidd : It was very intense, especially since it took a lot of time to shoot it because it was an episode of two hours. We all went out and sounded exhausted. All these deaths, these gunshots ... it was hard. We are very proud of the result. The actor who played the gunman was great and felt badly towards his character. It has affected him. He was worried; he had some responsibility to provide such a character. It gave weight to its interpretation. And then when he was hired, he did not know he was going to end like that, to kill everyone in the hospital! It was an excellent end of season. In reading the script, were you afraid to be spent too? Kevin McKidd : yes, everyone was worried. There was electricity in the air. Any character could be spent. And Owen had actually been shot. At this point, I started thinking about my children, and the cost of their schools ... (Laughs) And then after reading the 20 pages of script I was reassured. His injuries are not fatal. After that, I think the actors whose characters were killed have been warned in advance so nobody had a bad surprise. Do you already know what will happen to Owen in season 7, a few clues? Kevin McKidd : No, not yet. But I think it will be interesting because what happened at the hospital will always remind him of war trauma. Everyone will find themselves in the same position as him finally. What role will he have in all this? Is he going to be the one to whom others will confide? Is he going to stay in his corner? Shonda Rhimes series are very unique. How would you define her style? Kevin McKidd : She writes with her guts. I should certainly not say it but the episode has long since passed ... In the finale of season 5, it was expected that Cristina gets pregnant. It was written. We would then have raised the child in season 6. And Shonda Rhimes came to us and saying she had a dream and a little voice told him that this was not the right time. Then she changed at the last moment. That's her style: she believes in her characters, they live in his head, they love them deeply. And then she writes very well. Especially the dialogues. I spot immediately in a script she wrote. Have you heard of the movie "Rome", adapted from the series? Kevin McKidd : The film will not happen this year but next year, in all likelihood. This summer more precisely. The money needed for its production is largely harvested. The script is ready. The desire is there. Fingers crossed! Will all other players be back? Kevin McKidd : All those whose characters are not dead will return, yes. Everyone was eager to participate in the film, hoping that the schedules of each other can be reconciled, which will perhaps not be easy. " Interview conducted by Jean-Maxime Renault in London on 12 June 2010 Last installment of ella1967's epic Greys Season 6 Review... and a big thanks to Ella for her awesome review...Enjoy!
video thanks to Geniusmentis The final episodes of Season 6 found Owen and Cristina juggling their commitment to each other with the unsettling return of painful memories for each of them. While Teddy’s presence had both provided a teacher for Cristina and given Owen a chance to regain a friendship, it had also triggered his wartime memories. With Cristina’s encouragement, Owen settled into working alongside Teddy in Seattle as they had in the field. Due to this experience, however, we soon began to see Owen again experiencing PTSD symptoms except this time he also flashed back to the painful loss of a comrade in the field. As his memories of that loss unfolded over the course of a powerful episode we saw both the derivation of his friendship with Teddy and gained insight into the likely event Owen was dreaming about when he choked Cristina the previous season during a PTSD-triggered night terror. Owen became increasingly erratic both at home and at work, causing Cristina to express her concern while also mystifying Teddy who found her friend suddenly unwilling to back up her medical choices as he would have in the field. While this experience was exceedingly painful for all involved, Owen also found some relief through talking to the husband of a patient being treated by Teddy and Cristina. His wife had requested physician assisted suicide as cancer ravaged her frail system. Over the course of an emotionally tenuous day Owen realized the parallels between his stressful response to the patient’s choice and his inability to save his comrade during the war. Second Part of our Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Review thanks to Ella1967 How do you move into the future when you’ve previously expended so much energy avoiding dealing with your past? And if you continue to deny ‘Before’ while concentrating only on the life in front of you in the ‘After’ can you truly make forward progress? These are the very questions explored by Owen and Cristina in Season 6 after the arrival of Dr. Teddy Altman, a wartime friend of Owen’s who took on a temporary contract as head of cardio-thoracic surgery at Seattle Grace/Mercy West. Owen believed his friend Teddy could be the teacher to help Cristina advance her surgical skills. For Cristina, an opportunity to stretch her cardio wings again was just what the doctor ordered, except this gift came with a hefty price tag. It turned out Teddy had come to Seattle to reconnect with Owen, hoping for more than the platonic friendship they’d previously shared. Teddy’s confession found Owen caught between his love for Cristina and pride at her professional advancement and a friend who had changed the game unexpectedly. The mid-season series of episodes became a shell game of who knew what when, combining Cristina’s ever present struggle to balance love and career with unanticipated reminders for Owen of his Iraq war experience courtesy of Teddy’s arrival. Events came to a head quickly as Cristina misinterpreted Owen’s uneasy interactions with Teddy, causing Owen to pull Teddy aside to clarify the situation. Remembering Dr. Wyatt’s admonition about healing through talking about his time in Iraq, Owen allowed that while he’d once had feelings for Teddy the reality of his post-war life was that he’s in love with Cristina. Owen also found his words when confronted by Cristina’s fears about their relationship. Upon hearing Cristina say, ‘I’m insensitive sometimes but I’m not oblivious. I don’t want you to be with me because you feel like you owe me something. I mean you two went through war…’ Owen realized his actions left Cristina doubting his love for her and her place in his life. He responded by taking Cristina into his arms and passionately kissing her, telling her, ‘I’m with you. I’m with you because I want to be. I’m with you because I love you.’ The professional vs. personal paradigm soon shifted again after Teddy assigned Cristina a solo cardio surgery. While overjoyed at the opportunity, Cristina struggled to connect with her emotionally needy and indecisive patient. Owen’s cautious optimism shifted to concern as Teddy denied Cristina’s requests for assistance in the operating room as her patient spiraled. Teddy later agreed it was possible she’d let her feelings impact her behavior and decided to withdraw from her contract. Distraught at the loss of yet another teacher, Cristina was even more ill prepared when Teddy admitted her love for Owen as the reason she was leaving. In a moment of gut-wrenching fear attached to her own long-standing conflict between love vs. career and how to balance the two, Cristina offered to trade Owen, horrifying both herself and Teddy. As Cristina struggled to believe she would relinquish the person she loved for the thing she loved, she turned to the people with whom she had the most history – Meredith, Alex, and Izzie – to help clarify her thought process. Even given her friends’ input Cristina fell into old traps, believing herself capable of only sustaining her career given her relationship history. But after finding out what happened, Owen challenged Cristina to believe there was also room in her life for him. Shocked at Owen’s willingness to stand by her Cristina had no choice but to believe him when Owen declared what he viewed as an unalterable truth, ‘People do matter. I matter. We…We matter.’ Just like that, the argument Cristina had been having with herself all day became moot as she realized balancing love and career was indeed possible with Owen by her side. Our Fourth members contribution by Ella1967 who is summarizing Grey's Anatomy Season 6, its going to be in three parts so here is her first installment ....Enjoy! Season 6 of Grey’s Anatomy was one of both great loss and great change for everyone at Seattle Grace. Through that combination of loss and change came opportunities for growth, some more painful to experience than others. Responding to changes we wouldn’t have chosen but are faced with nonetheless tests our mettle and allows us to expand our perceptions of ourselves and the direction of our lives. And this was certainly the case for the staff of Seattle Grace, especially Owen Hunt, head of the trauma surgery department, and Cristina Yang, third year surgical resident.
The first great change involved saying goodbye to George O’Malley, a member of the Fab Five, who we learned had been the victim of a fatal traffic accident. Even as hospital staff members were experiencing grief, work continued as patients still required treatment. And yet, moments were found to savor connections. As people around them took in this loss we found the usually stoic Owen and Cristina tenderly reaching to hold the other's hand while waiting for a rig to arrive in the ambulance bay. Both were acutely aware of their loss – that of a friend and fellow surgeon – yet as the season began they also renewed their commitment to their relationship. Even as they moved into the future together Owen and Cristina remained clear they were facing challenges, chief among them Owen’s PTSD as a result of his army service in Iraq. As a show of good faith, Cristina even went so far as to attend therapy sessions with Owen. (Of course, this move on her part was also an attempt to prove to Owen’s psychiatrist that she and Owen knew each other well enough for her to relax her stance on asking them to wait to indulge in physical intimacy.) These sessions revealed the enormity of the path ahead of them. In addition to the weight of Owen’s wartime experience, the reality that they were in the beginning stages of a relationship and had a lot to learn about each other was also brought home to them.
