I tried to translate it in English ~ Vanessa (submitted via Contact page) thank you so much Vanessa for sharing this article with KMKonline ![]() Kevin McKidd is Dr. Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy, ABC Studios series prize-winning at the Roma Fiction Fest 2010 with the Award for Industy Excellence for the role covered by the major in the world of production over the years. Dr. Hunt fought in Iraq. What do you think of that war? <To play the role I have met many people who have really been there. Everyone answered me they went to protect dearest people, not for a political ideology. I'm part of an association that sends refreshments to the front to make soldiers feel less alone. But being a person in the public eye I don't feel to say if war has been right or wrong>. You have played in Trainspotting, Rome, Grey's Anatomy, Journeyman. Which of these characters you feel closer to? <Right Dr. Hunt because he tries to do his job well and always to be a good person. I'm myself a person who works hard, but certanly not perfect>. What do you watch on tv? <I adore The Simpsons. And dark commedies>. Fan Encounter 08/19/2010
![]() I was in Lake Tahoe on August 18th 2010 with family for vacation. I was with my grandma and mom signing consent forms to allow me to go Jet Skiing. I heard a very husky distinct voice in my left ear and quickly shifted so I could connect the voice with my eyes. It was him! Kevin Mckidd, glorious and well built, and exactly how i'd imagine he'd look in person. He looked identical to the role he plays as Owen Hunt on Grey's Anatomy. I signed the papers and shuffled over to him and his family where he too, was signing forms to rent a boat. I patiently waited for him to give me his attention and I introduced myself. "Hi! I might be mistaken but you look awfully familiar, you play Owen Hunt right?" "Yes, that would be me," And he gave me a polite smile and a firm shake on the hand "It's nice to meet you, and you are?" "A fan, it's a pleasure to meet you, are you going to be in the new season" "Yes" "Awesome, well would you mind taking a photo with me?" "Sure, but it's gotta be quick, the wind is insane today" I then proceeded to call over my mom, embarrassed and she took a photo. I then thanked him and wished him a good time with his family. He was so generous and willing to please any fan that came his way, though, I was the only one who seemed to have recognized him. - Brittney B. Firstly thank you to Elisa (from Italy) for sharing her Photos. Plus the details of her experience on the now deserted set, of the HBO Rome Series, Cinecitta studio's Italy. ~ Cinecitta Studio's do not run set tours, so this is a special treat ~ click on the images to enlarge The set is a little bit old and ruined, but still beautiful. It's big and magnificent; i visited the "front" part of it, the Foro and Ara, not the backlot (the one with Lucius Vorenus House..). When you arrive, you can't expect what you'll find, because before the Rome set, there is the "Gangs of New York" set. Ah! The magic of cinema! There are three temples, two squared temples and another circular structure, many columns and statues. It's like to be in ancient Rome, you can imagine the actors and crew working, and tons of extras screaming. It's a beautiful emotion to be there when everything is silent, because you can use your imagination. I worked a little on the colors of my photos, to make them "alive", because the real colors are fading out. After been on this set I discovered that Kevin McKidd was in this show, so I bought the Rome DVD and watched it in a weekend It was strange to see the places I've visited before for real; I think it has to be amazing for an actor working on sets like this Hope you'll like the photos Elisa http://elbyinart.deviantart.com --o0o-- ![]() A Portion of the above set actually burnt down on the 09th August 2007 full article with regards the fire Set of HBO's 'Rome' burns on Cinecitta backlot A good portion of the expensive and monumental set of HBO's series "Rome" has burned down...
