"Percy Jackson" sweeps video charts 07/08/2010
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – School's out, so it's no surprise that "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" scored a triple win atop all three national home video charts the week ending July 4. The film, which grossed $89 million in North American theaters, is based on a popular series of fantasy adventure books by Rick Riordan rooted in Greek mythology. The books are on many summer reading lists, and the video came out just in time to capitalize on that surge in awareness. According to the Nielsen VideoScan DVD sales chart, "Hot Tub Time Machine" came in at No. 2, followed by fellow rookie "The Crazies." The three titles finished in the same position on Nielsen VideoScan's Blu-ray Disc sales chart. "Percy Jackson" and "Hot Tub" also went 1 and 2 on Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week, while "Crazies" bowed at No. 5. source  Kevin McKidd: 'People just throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks' Kevin McKidd, 36, got his acting break in the 1996 cult film Trainspotting. He went on to play Lucius Vorenus in Rome, had his own US sci-fi show Journeyman and now stars in Grey’s Anatomy. He can be seen as Poseidon in Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief. Amazon pre-order listing shows it's coming to DVD in mid-September Grey's Anatomy - The Complete 6th Season is coming to DVD from ABC/Disney on September 14th, according to an Amazon pre-order listing which has recently been added. The title hasn't formally been announced to retailers or the press yet, but Amazon's entry shows that it will be a 6-disc set running 1032 minutes long, with English audio and subtitles in French and Spanish, for $59.99 SRP (but you can lock in your copy at a substantial discount if you act now).
