The Scot overcame a 12-mile assault course then flew the Lion Rampant at the finish line. Kevin scaled walls, crawled through tunnels filled with icy water and clambered over electric fences in the Tough Mudder challenge - designed by the Royal Marines. The Trainspotting and Rome actor got shocked twice and injured his ribs during the race near Lake Tahoe in California at the weekend. But it was worth it as he raised £7000 for Save The Children's east Africa appeal. Elgin-born Kevin, 38, thanked fans for their support via Twitter. He tweeted: "We did it - bruised and cramps from HELL!! Bruised my rib too. "The first wall climb is so high - as I was pulling myself over the top, I slammed my right-side ribs on the corner of the wall. Ouch! Bruised rib is handleable - I just didn't want to pull a muscle, turn an ankle or get a facial injury. "The electric shock hit me twice - first shock knocked me to the ground - now have an idea of what it may be like to get tazed!" Fewer than eight out of 10 competitors finish the Tough Mudder challenge. Kevin returned home to LA on Sunday night and was back on the set of his hit medical drama at 6.30am yesterday.
